Photos ~ A Ride Around Gig Harbor w/the Gang
More like a club, actually. I spent the day motoring on two wheels on my first ever NW Motor Scooters club ride. The well-planned route led us from near my favorite new theatre all over the lower Kitsap Peninsula. We stopped a couple beautiful parks, a Starbucks to keep everyone caffeinated, and a great inlet near Ollala that was also being used for the activity I would've done were it not for this ride -- skimboarding. There were also some stunning vistas of sea, sky and mountain in a few spots that silently mandated that all 23 of the scooters in our band today slow a bit.
Thanks tons to Karen and Tim for planning the route and leading the outing. It was great to meet you and all the other happy people with us today. Oh, and nice scooters everyone. ;)
See you next month!

Oh, man! I have such Vespa-envy! Was the freeway and bridge trip very scary?

No, it wasn't bad at all. Got it up to 65 MPH from the Jefferson on-ramp then toned it down to the requisite 55 across the bridge and into Gig Harbor. Pretty steady ride.

I saw the scooters drive through Gig Harbor (where I live) I wanted to know how to sign up for the club and go on the next ride.

Mine's only a 150cc and I had throttle to spare. Also note that the speed limit is only 55 MPH on the bridge and on the Gig Harbor side at least up to the Olympic exit. I think Hwy 16 from I-5 is only 55 so it's not too scary to ride on.
